The Samantha Hat

One of the meanings of the name Samantha is ‘blossom’ and this handmade crochet hat exudes an array of flower colors.  Plum, purple, fuchsia, pink, beige and green make this hat reflect the colors of a branch holding flowers of all colors.  Not only are the colors expressive and look like they were painted on, but the hat is warm as well – made with 100% worsted wool.
 
Cold weather is not required to love this wool beanie crocheted using the excellent pattern by Sea Star Crochet named the Offshore Beanie.  I used one of my favorite yarns - Kuka Magic Wool self-striping yarn.  The brim uses Cascade yarns DK weight superwash wool which is incredible soft around your face.

The hat measures 8" from the bottom of the brim to the top of the crocheted hat. Lying flat, brim-to-brim, it measures 9", but TAKE NOTE that this hat and brim is crocheted using an accordion type stitch, which expands to fit a normal 20-23 inch woman's head.
 
I crochet each of my hats individually, using yarns that I have collected from a variety of sources.  My interest is in making unique hats from the highest quality yarns. This fashionable hat will keep you warm and cozy all day in the winter cold.
