The Red Red Rose Hat

This handmade red wool and mohair hair reminded me of the Robert Burns poem - My Love is Like a Red, Red Rose.  The red of this yarn is so rich and deep and yes, romantic!  The contrasting brim is a dramatic red and black, making this a truly one of a kind hat that will make heads turn.  Sip on a single malt scotch and read the poem to your sweetheart.
 
Look at that textured stitch in the body of hat!  Both the body and double brim use two strands of different yarns - something I love to do, because the textures an color variations are endless with 2 colors.  The main yarn of the body is Ice Red Kan Mohair Yarn 20% Mohair, 25% Wool, 45% Acrylic, 10% Polyamide (nylon), paired with Ice Rock Star red shiny yar.  The brim uses black Schoeller Lorena Astral Yarn paired with a DK red wool yarn. Topped off with a large red with black color tipped fake fur pom pom, this really is a stunner.  It is not all style, and no function, because this hat will keep you toasty warm all winter long.

The hat measures 8.5" from the bottom of the brim to the top of the crocheted hat. Lying flat, brim-to-brim, it measures 9.25", but TAKE NOTE that this hat and brim expands to fit a normal 20-23 inch woman's head.
