The Neve Hat
Neve is Irish for bright or snowy and this handmade crochet hat with a wide sherpa brim feels just like a winter snowfall! Put on this warm and fuzzy beanie and you will want to stand in the snow with your tongue out, catching soft snowflakes.
This beanie pattern from Kehrer Berry Designs is one of my very favorite patterns because you can use any combination of double yarn strands on hand to create a creative and colorful beanie. In this case I used strands of metallic 100% acrylic Caron Lava Cake, Loops and Threads Natural Marl (Polyester/Acrylic/9% wool) 1 strand of Ice brand wool/nylon/metallic paired with 1 strand of Ice brand angora/nylon/polyester. The accent rows are from 100 acrylic red bouclé, and the fabulous brim is 100% polyester Loops and Threads Sherpa. This brim is so soft and comfy that you will not want to take Neve off! I love the contrasts of colors and textures but really love how this hat reminds me of a winter day!
Would you like it made in a different color combination? Message me and I would be happy to let you know what yarns I have available to create your dream hat. You have the choice of a removeable or sewn in pom pom, or none at all. Just click the options box.
The hat measures 8" from the bottom of the brim to the top of the crocheted hat. Lying flat, brim-to-brim, it measures 10", but TAKE NOTE that this hat and brim expands to fit a normal 20-23 inch woman's head.
I crochet each of my hats individually, using yarns that I have collected from a variety of sources. My interest is in creating hats that are fashionable and unique, and also functional, and I use the highest quality yarns to keep you cozy all day in the winter cold.
This would make a great gift - or buy it for yourself!
