The Mikaela Hat

This handmade Mikaela crochet hat has the look of a classic winter ski hat which made me think of the great skier, Mikaela Shiffren.  The colors of off-white, gray marl and red are all combined in different yarns and textures that all come together in a warm, soft and cheerful winter beanie – but don’t worry, you don’t have to zip down the mountain to wear this hat!  Wear it to watch the slalom from the finish line!
 
The Mikaela hat is made from several yarns:  Paton’s Classic Wool Worsted yarn in two patterns of gray marl, Ice Misty mohair (75% acrylic/15% wool/10% mohair) and 2 strands of red – mohair and worsted wool.  The double brim will keep your ears super warm and this beanie is truly one-of-a-kind!

The hat measures 8" from the bottom of the brim to the top of the crocheted hat; brim-to-brim, lying flat, the hat measures 9", but TAKE NOTE that this brim expands like an accordion to fit a normal 20-23 inch woman's head.  This makes for a fantastic fit.
 
I crochet each of my hats individually, using yarns that I have collected from a variety of sources.  My interest is in making unique hats from the highest quality yarns. This fashionable hat will keep you warm and cozy all day in the winter cold.
