The Marilee Hat

This handmade winter beanie is named Marilee because that is the Latin name for star of the blue sea, and oh my, this is beautifully blue, all over!  You probably won’t be wearing this chunky yarn, double brimmed hat in the ocean, but any blustery day is the perfect day to wear this warm, soft one of a kind hat.
 
The body of this crochet hat is made using Lionbrand Wool Ease Thick and Quick (80% acrylic/20% wool) and the fuzzy, soft double brim uses two strands of contrasting blue yarns – one fuzzy navy-blue mohair and the other 100% acrylic Caron Latte Cake eyelash yarn.  The contrast of textures is truly unique and one of a kind.  Topped off with a white fake fur pom-pom, this hat is truly unusual.  
 
You have the choice of a removeable or sewn in pom pom, or none at all.  Just click the options box.
 
The hat measures 7 1/2" from bottom of brim to top of crocheted hat and brim to brim, laying flat, measures 10", but TAKE NOTE that this hat and brim expands like an accordion to fit a normal 20-24 inch woman's head.  This makes for a fantastic fit.
 
I crochet each of my hats individually, using yarns that I have collected from a variety of sources.  My interest is in making hats that are one of a kind and use the highest quality yarns to produce a fashionable hat that will keep you warm and cozy all day in the winter cold.
