The Ellie Hat

This handmade crochet hat is crocheted using a favorite yarn – Malabrigo hand dyed wool.  It is so soft and warm and the colors are so warm and vibrant that I use it often to make warm, distinctive and fun winter hats and beanies. Each hank of Malabrigo yarn is somewhat different and you will have a truly unique hat with the Ellie Hat.
 
This Malabrigo Rasta yarn used in the body of the Ellie hat is a super soft bulky yarn, in a variety of teals.  The brim is wide and expands to fit your head like an accordion and uses the same Malabrigo yarn but in a rich maroon.   The stitches in the hat are close and rippled, making this a super warm, yet super light feel.

The hat measures 8" from the bottom of the brim to the top of the crocheted hat. Lying flat, brim-to-brim, it measures 9 1/2", but TAKE NOTE that this hat and brim expands to fit a normal 20-23 inch woman's head.
 
I crochet each of my hats individually, using yarns that I have collected from a variety of sources. My interest is in creating hats that are fashionable and unique, and that use the highest quality yarns to keep you warm and cozy all day in the winter cold.
