The Denali Hat

The Denali Hat

The homemade crochet Denali Hat is named after a beautiful snow covered mountain.  This beautiful hat reminded me of a soft blanket of snow on a hillside, with bits of the brown earth poking through.  It has a fuzzy wide brim and will keep you warm and cozy all winter long, while accessorizing your fashion style.

This beanie pattern from Kirsten Holloway Designs is one of my very favorite patterns because of the intricate double seed stitch texture.  The body of the hat is made with Lion Brand Mandala self-striping yarn (75% acrylic / 25% wool) and the brim contrasts with a double strand texture, using Caron Latte Cake (100% acrylic) and Ice Brand Rock Star (19% Merino Wool, 11% Acrylic, 70% Nylon)  which has a bit of shine and pizzazz.  The result is an extremely soft  and fuzzy hat that is easy care and will keep you warm - and fashionable - all winter long.  I topped it off with a big cream colored fake fur pom pom for that final fun touch.

Would you like it made in a different color combination?  Message me and I would be happy to let you know what yarns I have available to create your dream hat.  You have the choice of a removeable or sewn in pom pom, or none at all.  Just click the options box.

The hat measures 8" from the bottom of the brim to the top of the crocheted hat. Lying flat, brim-to-brim, it measures 10", but TAKE NOTE that this hat and brim expands to fit a normal 20-23 inch woman's head.

I crochet each of my hats individually, using yarns that I have collected from a variety of sources. My interest is in creating hats that are fashionable and unique, and that use the highest quality yarns to keep you cozy all day in the winter cold.

This would make a great gift - or buy it for yourself!
