The Aurora Hat

The Aurora Hat is a handmade crochet hat in colors that reminded me of the Aurora Borealis - teals and blues in swirls, with a soft and fuzzy wide brim and alpine stitched hat body, divided with a lovely row of puff stitches.  The yarns used in this hat are so unusual and fuzzy warm that this hat makes a statement for your winter wardrobe!
 
This beanie pattern from Mrsbcustomcrochet Designs is one of my very favorite patterns because of the lovely texture in the stitches and the contrasting textures between the body and the brim.  The body of the hat is made with Ice Neptune's Fantasia - a heavy worsted very soft 75% acrylic/25% wool yarn, and the wide, fuzzy brim uses 2 strands of yarn - Ice Lurex 20% wool/75% acrylic/5% metallic and Ice Rockstar acrylic and metallic yarn. soft and shiny yarn that is 59% acrylic, 29% wool and 18% nylon.

The hat measures 8" from the bottom of the brim to the top of the crocheted hat. Lying flat, brim-to-brim, it measures 10", but TAKE NOTE that this hat and brim expands to fit a normal 20-23 inch woman's head.
 
I crochet each of my hats individually, using yarns that I have collected from a variety of sources. My interest is in creating hats that are fashionable and unique, and that use the highest quality yarns to keep you cozy all day in the winter cold.
