Red and brown chunky crochet hat

FAQs

Sizing
How to measure your head! Here is a quick tutorial about head measurements for knitted or crocheted hats and beanies.

It is important that the tape measure goes around the widest part of the head; over the forehead and above the ears. Remember to keep the tape snug. Hat brims need to fit snugly so your measurement should reflect this.

A good general rule to follow is that the brim of a hat will usually have about 2"/5cm of negative ease. That means the brim will measure about 2"/5cm less than your head circumference. Your own personal preference may mean that you prefer a brim that is either looser or tighter.

Also measure over the top of your head, from bottom of one ear to bottom of the other ear.

Custom and personalized orders

I am happy to make you a custom hat! Do you see a hat you like, but would like a different color combination or different kind of yarn (i.e. acrylic vs. wool?), message me and I will work with you to make your one of a kind hat. I have done this with other customers and it has been a really fun project to create something that is JUST for you!

Care instructions

I always include care instructions in the package with your hat(s). In general I suggest hand washing and laying flat to dry. If your pom pom is permanently attached, I suggest not washing the pom pom, just the body of the hat. With the hats that have snap on/off pom poms, you can pop off the pom pom and put the whole hat in your hand wash container.
